  • This album is for me the pinnacle of the Parvati/Århus-school of psychedelia. Ten years (+/-) of evolution since ECT, Monno, Jahbo, Jaffa etc. first raised their long fingers to anything related to both outdated Goa mysticism, Progressive minimalism and Israeli commercialism, this compilation strikes the perfect balance of following certain dogmas style-and soundwise (limitations CAN be a good thing) yet keeping things curious and creative. This is where I first understood that Arjuna was about to reach Next Level, this is where hi-tech maniacs Savage Scream and Alien Mental for the first time went deeply psychedelic, and most of all, this is where Maniac Bubbles perfected the Århus-sound with "Maniacs On The Run". I don't know how many dj-sets I have finished with this track, and each time it let loose it's power the dancefloor goes maaaaaad. Dark, sinister and twisted, yet joyous, playful and extrovert, that always brings out smiles among the dancers. It has a great sense of drama, and the funk level simply is beyond words. It's funny how it still only is the danes who understand FUNK within the Forest-scene, 18 years later. How to create a Groove that moves your hips, not only the feet. Anyone can EQ their way to a phat beat, anyone can create a trippy soundscape, but to combine great mixing, tasteful, musical FX and some f-n groove - only a few can do that. So anyone aspiring to create next night time masterpiece - listen carefully to especially Jaffa, System Overload and Onkel Dunkel.Back to this compilation. Like with all genres, the Forest-scene has been repeating itself for a long time now. It simply is inevitable. But there sure is gold to be found if you look carefully. Usually you find one track here, another one there. But in the case of this album, most tracks really are stellar. And the fact that they all sound great today, 8 years later, says a lot. Great job Tadayan and all artists involved! At last I just want to say that I first heard this album as an mp3 around 2011. Since then I was looking here on discogs quite often to see if it was for sale. After some time I simply gave up and asked a russian DJ-colleague to look for this in lossless at a Russian pirate site. He luckily found it, so in this case I'm a proud pirate...
