Susan Alcorn - Evening Tales download free

Wonderful material from the always amazing Susan Alcorn. I love this album but the pressing is horrible. I have had 2 different copies and both are riddled with pop, clicks, and surface noise. There are also digital anomalies in the source material that are distracting. I wish they would have enforced better quality control over this pressing. I can understand the source anomalies if it was a live performance etc, Those things happen. There is no reason for bad pressings though. That is why Test Pressings exist. I have friends that own labels and they sometimes send test pressings back 5 times before the plant finally gets it right. I wish more people did this. Pressing plants are overbooked and overworked, they are much more likely to do sloppy work..expect it. It is up to the label and artist to ensure the final product sounds good. If they send a crappy sounding test pressing and the artist/label sings off on it then that is what the customer is going to get. I would much rather have a pushed back release date and an audiophile product than opening and brand spanking new VG record.
